Sometimes, I decide to think deep philosophical thoughts about the state of the world, of women’s rights, and of the next generation coming up. I do. I do think these things.
Then I get over it, because, frankly, I’m not very good at it.
So today, like I’ve done several times in the past, I’m going to write some stuff relevent to my life. In keeping with my generally sunny *koffkoff* nature, I’m going to list some thing that please me. Because It’s My Blog and I’ll Write What I Want To.
1. Cheese toast. A slice of wheat bread, a slice of Kraft American Cheese, cooked at 400 degrees for 9 minutes. No cheap cheese, please. I’ll buy store-brand mayonnaise and ketchup all day long, but I must have Kraft American.
2.Finding sleeveless cotton shirts exactly the way I like them, on sale for $5 at KMart.
3.Spending 5 hours in a car with Sweet Daddio. I haven’t spent that much quality time with him since I don’t know when! We talked! We made decisions! We made fun of our relatives!
4.Clouds in the sky. Heavy ones, that might possibly indicate rain. I refuse to hope.
5.Yay! SD and I chewed it over, and we’re getting an above-ground swimming pool! Yay! Can’t do in-ground pools, due to logistics and a very high water table. Pools installed in ground will eventually float right up out of the ground. Not good.Well, you can, but you have to haul in 27 dumptruck loads of dirt and make a hill to put the pool in. Anyway, it will be big enough for me to run around in circles and pretend to exercise, to water aerobics (yeah right), or float in indulgently, beer in hand and radio to the side blaring Gretchen Wilson and the Dipsy Twits. Boys and I are going tut suite to fetch the contraption even now. I get to drive the Explorer! WooHoo! Heavy weight, Primer Grey, Flowbe-mastered chunk o’ Redneck Goodness. And I’m the Mom so I get to drive. Yeehaw!
*and we’re back* Alas, they didn’t have any 16 ft pools. So we had to get an 18 ft one. Rats. The Explorer, it idles at about 500 rpm, making me nervous that it’s gonna just cut out. So I’m sitting at the light tapping the gas BRUMBRUM and getting shifty eyed looks from the guy in the other lane. Little Martha, I shift her gears at about 5000rpm. The boys fussed at me for letting the Ex go up to 3000 before shifting. “mom!” they said, “Mom! It’s not some hopped up little ferrin car! It’s a Man’s Truck and you should shift at 1500!” Whatever.
The boys, they are making plans to Begone. One to the local water park, another to a friend’s. Gosh. It will be quiet here. I guess I’ll make a pitcher of tea and watch a movie. I’m out of Oreos, but right now, I’m not needing them anyway. Maybe popcorn is in order.

ummmmmm cheese toast. Cheese is, quite possibly, the worlds most perfect food. Pools are good to.
Comment by RenegadeEvolution June 1, 2007 @ 10:55 amA pool. Huh. You could come swim in the flooded field behind my house, if you’d like.
Kidding.
I’ve always wanted a pool – I’ve even considered one of those “forever” pools where you swim against a current. Too spendy. An above ground pool sounds like a great idea. Enjoy it!
